An artist statement is a necessary component to any artist’s portfolio and can be used for exhibitions, juried shows, applications for grants, scholarships and more.
For both artist statements and biographies, the process for writing assistance begins with an extensive one -on-one interview to determine what structure would best suit the individual artist. Once determined, the interview continues to gather additional information to aid in the writing. There is an open dialogue between the artist and the writer throughout the process to create a writing piece that is true to the artist’s voice and intention.
